⚠️ DPF light coming on more frequently? ℹ️ If an engine is running cold then it won’t be efficient. This will impact the DPF regenerating, fuel economy, emissions and carbon buildup. Another vehicle with a misbehaving thermostat – this time an Audi A5 3.0tdi diesel (2008 – 87k miles) This one was booked in for diagnostics and Engine Carbon Clean after the DPF light came on the dashboard. ⛑️ Health check looked ok apart from the dashboard coolant temperature display showing a little cold. 📊 Diagnostics was fairly clear with an fault hydraulic right hand side engine mount. We took the car for a test drive to enable a dpf regeneration which it started doing but unfortunately the thermostate was stuck opening causing engine temperature to drop to 55°c ( It must be over 80°c) Once we established the issue we kept the cabin heating off to maintain the temperature and proceeded with the clean. ☑️ Full Diagnostics ☑️ Engine Carbon Clean ☑️ Safety first, fully insured, IMI Certified and Which?
