Jaguar 3.0D XF engine carbon clean

⚠ī¸ Black smoke on acceleration? This is a sign of over fuelling and can be down to many things such as leaks, but is also a sign of carbon buildup.🚗 Here we have a Jaguar XF 3.0D booked in for diagnostics consultation and Engine Carbon Clean.ℹī¸ The owner booked it in as it was ‘sluggish at times’, and occasionally experiencing limp (restricted power) mode.🔎 Initial diagnostics of the whole vehicle showed some active and historic issues which we documented for the owner, cleared down and monitored what reappeared. Whilst completing the cleaning process we discovered a slight split in the plastic intake manifold (picture below)that could only be seen and felt when the engine was revved.
With the inlet manifold now replaced customers reports the engine is performing perfectly.📊 Live data monitoring showed normal coolant and exhaust temperatures, good EGR movement and gas flow on both banks of the engine and the DPF in good health with low backpressure, 216 miles since the last regeneration and a running average of 285 miles between regenerations.👨‍🔧 On with the clean and the initial bass rumble in the engine soon dissipated as the engine smoothed out and quietened down with the throttle response returning.ℹī¸ Getting (and keeping) the engine running smooth will be fuel efficient and keep the emissions down.🌐 www.enginecarboncleanlincolnshire.com 👀☑ī¸ Full live data Diagnostics
