🚗 Here we have a Jaguar XJ6 4.2ltr (1973 – 36k miles) booked in for an Engine Carbon Clean as part of a double Jaguar car booking. The owner has owned this stunning classic Jaguar for 4 years and wanted to restore the engine back to its peak efficiency.
🔎 Initial inspection in the engine bay found little of note with no excessive rattles or leaks, but a a slightly uneven idle when warmed up.
💻 No diagnostics on this one but we did check oil and coolant levels before starting (as we do we every engine) carburettor dash pots also checked.
📊 Live analog data showed good oil pressure when up to temperature, voltage and coolant temp remained correct throughout the cleaning process.
👨🔧 On with the clean and the bass note in the engine soon dissipated as it smoothed out and by the end the response returned and was quiet and smooth.
