Engine carbon cleaning an Audi TT

⚠️ Vehicle not running right? Poor idle, low fuel economy, starting issues?🚗 Here we have an Audi TT 1.8 tfsi (2013 – 53k miles) booked in for diagnostics and Engine Carbon Clean.🔎 Our customer booked us after the TT started to misfire giving an engine management light and limp mode issues. Customer had already replaced the spark plugs, and the coil pack for the offending cylinder misfire. This was then followed up with a new injector on cylinder 1. Unfortunately these measures haven’t resolved the issue.It was noted by the garage there was carbon build up in the inlet manifold and around the inlet valves. A very common issue on tfsi and tsi engine.💻 Initial diagnostics on VCDS showed misfire codes, with all the components working correctly we monitored the misfires across the 4 cylinder to establish cylinder 1 was causing the engine management light issues.📊 Live data showed a perfectly running thermostat running at an average of 98°C and varying little when tested. With all other live data within tolerances.👨‍🔧 On with the clean and the engine soon smoothed out, quietened down but importantly the misfire issues on idle for cylinder 1 dropped throughout the clean. Fault codes didn’t return BUT as good as our system is it won’t clean an inlet manifold as they dont get hot enough to ignite the hydrogen ( any company that tells it cleans everything is misinformed)Post clean trdt drive customer commented the engine was running well with no fault codes.After detailed a discussion with the customer we agreed this engine would benefit from further work on the inlet side and the customer is going to walnut blast it.🌐 www.enginecarboncleanlincolnshire.com 👀☑️ Full live data Diagnostics☑️ Which?
