🚗 Here we have an Astra 1.9cdti ( 132k miles) booked in for diagnostics and Engine Carbon Clean.
🔎 Our customer booked us after the Astra started to smoke heavier when accelerating.
💻 Initial diagnostics showed no issues or concerns stored.
On inspection of the engine bay we found an inlet manifold runner linkage detached from the mechanism, the manifold flaps were free to move and the actuator working correctly. Customer advised and a linkage has been ordered and wil be fitting it on arrival.
📊 Live data showed a perfectly running thermostat running at an average of 98°C and varying little when tested. Egr and Turbo actuation showed them to be working correctly and the injectors all well balanced.
With all other live data within tolerances.
👨🔧 On with the clean and the engine soon smoothed out, quietened down and smoke levels dropped hugely.
