⚠️ DPF light coming on more frequently? ℹ️ If an engine is running cold then it won’t be efficient. This will impact the DPF regenerating, fuel economy, emissions and carbon buildup. Another vehicle with a misbehaving thermostat – this time an Audi A5 3.0tdi diesel (2008 – 87k miles) This one was booked in for diagnostics and Engine Carbon Clean after the DPF light came on the dashboard. ⛑️ Health check looked ok apart from the dashboard coolant temperature display showing a little cold. 📊 Diagnostics was fairly clear with an fault hydraulic right hand side engine mount. ⚠️ Petrol, diesel, LPG or hybrid all suffer from carbon buildup. This returning customer with a meticulously maintained Volvo XC90 (2009 – 87,478 miles) booked in for diagnostics and Engine Carbon Clean. ⛑️ Health check identified little of note. No leaked or concerns. 📊 Diagnostics showed 1 active issue – a swirl control flap actuator. (See photo below) On further investigation it was noticed the actuator connector rod had popped off. Here we have a recently acquired Audi RS4 (126k miles) booked in for diagnostics and a preventative Engine Carbon Clean. ⛑️ Health check was clear and no rattles, wobbles or issues of note. Oil and coolant levels both correct and no visible issues or concerns. 📊Diagnostics identified 3 fault codes Both rear lambda sensors ( could be as a result of the performance Miltek exhaust further investigations needed ) and right hand side engine mount. The rest of the car was scan and no issues to report. We check every sensor bumper to bumper. Now on these engines we never profess to be able to clean the inlet manifold anything like a removal and walnut blast but we do make a vast improvement on the rest of the engine. Hydrogen & oxygen technology is good but relies on heat to ignite the hydrogen.. inlet manifold are never hot enough.
